Naomi L. Ballance Currently Naomi is studying for her MA in Painting at Winchester School of Art, where she is specialising in work that combines techniques of painting, drawing, photography and printed textiles. Naomi's art practice proposes to test conventional boundaries between art forms through producing work that exists in an ambivalent space between painting, sculpture, installation and design. The correlation between pattern and image in relation to the history of painting is the basis for her practical and theoretical studies. Through this enquiry Naomi intends to establish imagery and techniques that can be appropriately applied to various creative outlets including fine art works; products for interior design; book, card, and magazine illustrations; and repeat pattern designs that can be adapted to suit wrapping paper, wallpaper or printed textiles.
